There are times when I, in the words of Queen, "want to ride my bicycle" (Bicycle Race by Queen)
In a moment of rare poetic genius (or not so much genius), I have composed a poem about the bicycle:) Maybe you should all try your hand at poetry!!!
*Disclaimer: this was composed without any refresher research on what exactly an ode or sonnet should consist of.
The air that blows through your hair,
the bugs that fly in your eyes.
Freedom to go anywhere,
sets you free, your spirit flies.
The spinning of wheels and gears
as you grip the handlebars.
With ease you ride years and years
and let sit idle your car.
Over bumps and down mountains
on paths and streets you travel,
while round and round go the chains;
One with nature, you marvel.
The bicycle is your friend
maybe an enemy too.
Ride with care, or in the end
you may go where I once flew.
With brakes that work so well, blinded by the evening lights
Over the handlebars, on the ground, one of my more painful flights.
Love the Ode, that is so great! So did you really over the handlebars fly?
